Approach at Lowfield
At Lowfield Primary School, we take a trauma‑informed and relational approach to behaviour. We understand that children’s experiences shape how they respond to challenges, and we combine high expectations with high levels of support to help every child succeed.
We focus on:

Our aim is to create a school environment where children feel secure, included and ready to learn. We use restorative approaches to help pupils repair relationships, reflect on their actions and build resilience.
Lowfield Primary School is committed to supporting every child with compassion, consistency and high expectations.
We have three basic rules that everyone in school follows.
When behaviour breaks down we follow the approach of repairing and restoring.
To ensure consistency in our approach we follow the Lowfield Steps to Behaviour ladder when dealing with incidents. This is shared with parents and staff each year. In addition to this we have our Home-School Behaviour contract which sets out clear expectations for how we all work together in our relational approach to behaviour.
