Headteacher's Welcome

1st September 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our website. We hope you find the information you require but if you can’t see what you are looking for please email us and we will do all we can to answer your query as quickly as we can.

As a National Support School, we aim to ensure that our school is a secure, inclusive and caring environment where everyone is valued and respected. We work tirelessly to ensure all our pupils are well cared for and are given every opportunity to achieve their very best. In 2015 we were in the top 10% of all schools nationally for the progress our pupils made between KS1 and KS2. In 2016, we were in the top 20% of all schools and in 2017 and 2018 we were once again recognised as being in the top 10% of all schools nationally for progress.

Despite the restrictions imposed, currently due to Covid-19, we remain committed to providing stimulating and motivating learning experiences for our pupils, which equip and prepare them for life in the 21st Century. We believe that everyone in our school should enjoy their learning and feel proud of their achievements. To fulfil this, we provide a broad and balanced curriculum which gives equal value to developing children’s academic, social, physical and spiritual understanding.  Our aim is to ensure all our pupils leave us ready for the next stage of their education; so that they can go on to make a positive contribution to British society and that they can function in the fast changing world in which they find themselves. Through fostering a lifelong love of learning, we hope to help our pupils to live full and happy adult lives.

We truly value the fantastic relationships we have with our parents and carers and recognise that effective partnerships are essential in raising standards. We appreciate and value the support all our families give us and the role they play in enriching our pupil’s experiences and supporting their child’s education.  Parents and carers are always welcome to come into school, by pre-arranged appointment, to discuss their child’s progress or any matters of concern.

The purpose of this website is to inform current and prospective parents and carers about the life of our school; its ethos, aims and values. We hope the site will be useful, informative and enjoyable to view and you will visit it on a regular basis.

Please contact the school if you require any further information not on the website or if you would like to visit the school. Visits are most warmly welcome, subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

Yours faithfully,

Christopher Holder
