Good attendance and punctuality are vital if pupils are to achieve their maximum potential. We are committed to working with parents/carers and pupils to ensure that each pupil benefits from the academic, personal and social opportunities available to them during their years with us.
Sheffield City council have produced the following video about children missing out on their education and how important it is that they are in school. Click the link below to see the video.

We are required to keep a careful record of children’s absences and forward the information to the Local Authority. The following are acceptable reasons for absence:
An application must be made in advance to the school if parent's wish to take their children out of school during term time. Only in extreme circumstances will the Headteacher consider authorising leave of absence. (see flyer attached above)
A note or telephone call at the beginning of any absence is required. It is essential that you inform us of the reason for absence on your child’s return to school. Failure to do so will result in an unauthorised absence being recorded against the child’s name.
If your child has a medical appointment during the school day, they must be collected from, and returned to, the School Office by a parent. They must also be signed out of, and back into, school using the Absence Authorisation Pass issued by the Office.
If your child arrives at school after 8.50am they will be given a late mark in the register. They should report to the School Office to be registered and to order their school meal before going to their classroom.
The Attendance Award is presented to the class with the best attendance each week. The class with the best attendance at the end of each term receives a reward.
